Natural Remedies Using Young Living Oils!
Deciding to take Natural Medicine courses in college was an eye-opening experience for me. I was exposed to a new alternative way of healing and living that I grew an appreciation for. Being someone with a lengthy health history, it was life-changing to learn that there were natural remedies that I could practice on my own outside of a doctor's office.
I have had an ever-growing apothecary ever since I first learned about the benefits of essential oils. However, it was not until a few years back that I learned that not all oils are created the same. In fact, some oils are not even what they claim to be at all!! I was infuriated. To my surprise, not only was I using extremely diluted oils but these "organic" and "all-natural" oils were anything but!!!
My sister-in-law, Diana, introduced me to Young Living and I was mixed with emotions. First, I was in complete awe of how potent and pure the oils were. Second, I was so thankful to finally know the truth about these imposter oils. And third, I was PISSED I had literally been wasting my time with this bottled toxic crap!!
I cannot recommend enough to only work with pure oils. Yes, they might be more expensive than the store brands but that is because you get what you pay for. Because the oils are so much more potent, it also allows you to use less of it at a time.
Here are some of my favorite all-natural remedies that I use regularly!
1. BUG SPRAY

16oz Glass Spray Bottle
Fill bottle with half Witch Hazel and half water
15 Drops Lemongrass
15 Drops Citronella
10 Drops Lavendar
I get eaten by every bug there is. They even get me through my clothes! This mixture helps SO much and it is non-toxic so it is safe for kids!

2. FACIAL CLEANSER

1/4 cup Mild Castille Soap
2/3 cup Distilled Water
2 tbs Jojoba Oil
3 drops Lavender Essential Oil
2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
25 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
+ foaming soap dispenser
I have acne prone skin so I switched to something more natural and it makes a huge difference!!!
3. BABY WIPES

1 paper towel roll (I prefer Bounty)
A sharp knife
1.5 cups pure filtered water
2 Tbs coconut oil
1 Tsp clean soap (I recommend Young Living's KidScents or Dr. Bronner's)
20 drops of essential oils of your choice! Using Lavender is good for calming the skin, Tea Tree is good for antibacterial uses, etc.
An empty + clean wipe container
Directions:
- Cut the roll of paper towels in half and remove cardboard roll
- Add the coconut oil and soap to the 1.5 cups of warm water and mix
- Let the water come to a room temperature then add your essential oils (stir again obviously)
- Place the paper towels in the wipe container and pour the mixture over them.
- Let everything absorb and you are good to go!
4. BABY POWDER

1/2 cup Arrowroot Powder or Bentonite Clay
5 drops of Lavender
Shake it up! Sometimes blending it through a food processor helps too if you have one available!
I can't stress enough how important it is to go all natural with baby products. It is just sickening to me to read the labels of these products that we use on our babies without even giving it a second thought.
5. HAND SANITIZER

2 Tbs Aloe
1 Tbs Witch Hazel
1 Tsp water
8 drops of Thieves
6. DISINFECTANT

16 oz of water
5 drops of Lavender Oil
10 drops of Lemon Oil
15 drops of Tea Tree Oil
15 drops of Rosemary Oil
Please, for the love all things Holy, do NOT clean your surfaces with toxic chemicals. You know better than that!!
This mixture is awesome but I also recommend their Thieves cleaning line. It is literally the bomb.
